Additional The Federalist Papers (Penguin Classics) Information

Written at a time when furious arguments were raging about the best way to govern America, "The Federalist Papers" had the immediate practical aim of persuading New Yorkers to accept the newly drafted Constitution in 1787. In this they were supremely successful, but their influence also transcended contemporary debate to win them a lasting place in discussions of American political theory. Acclaimed by Thomas Jefferson as 'the best commentary on the principles of government which ever was written', "The Federalist Papers" make a powerful case for power-sharing between State and Federal authorities and for a Constitution that has endured largely unchanged for two hundred years.

What Customers Say About The Federalist Papers (Penguin Classics):

The Federalist Papers by Alexander Hamilton, John Jay and James Madison. Published by MobileReference (mobi). This ebook is worth every penny and more. It is such a great value. The one-stop-shop for the important US government works.

By a narrow margin the Federalist won but anti-federalist fears have come to fruition. The Federalist Papers was written to convince the states of the need for a central power to protect against foreign invasions. The states did not want this power because they had just fled from one. We now have a government more corrupt than the one our founders and war hero's died for trying to escape. It condones and defends an invasion of its own land while invading countries around the world.

the kindle version is completely adequate.itd be nice if the table of contents were right justified

It's nice to have on my Kindle in case I want to imitate Scalia and cite sources going all the way back to the Federalist Papers. I'm using my Kindle as my portable legal library so the FP's are a must.

Seems to have the information that i would like. It is authentic written but the language is dry by current standards.
